A roundup of a very exciting week at GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona
Now, looking back, it has been a great success! On Monday our CEO Paul Naastepad pitched for a jury of renowned industry specialists in order to win us the mobile innovation award for Most Innovative Wireless Device-centric Technology. Later that day, GSMA's Bill Gajda made it known that we had won! And not only that, we had been selected as a winner of the whole EMEA tournament.
Tuesday morning was kicked of with a press conference at the Torre Catalunya hotel, where we explained our technology to select journalists from around the world, and where our partners Tom Bryant of Digicel and Jonathan Natrass of Commtiva came by to announce the great products that we've developed together.
The media have shown great interest in all of this, and we've received amazing coverage, both for our story and the products we helped our partners develop. For pictures, please see our press page.
The end of the day was again spent in eager anticipation as there was a final pitch for the grand finale of the innovation awards. At the gala dinner we were very disappointed to learn that we did not win, coming in as a runner up to China's Cootek. Again, congratulations guys!
We spent the rest of the event meeting amazing people, most of whom are interested in working with us to develop more solar powered phones and chargers, bringing communications to developing regions and convenient, sustainable power to the digital nomads.
Thanks everyone for this great event!
